This multidisciplinary applied clinical course will develop an increased capacity for thoughtful response and innovative intervention in services for older people and care home settings and will strengthen people in their professional role whether working at an individual, group or organisational level

Emotional Mapping - Work Discussion Seminar
Each week a member of the course will have the opportunity to present a detailed account of work with a particular patient or a challenging situation from their own place of work. Using experience based learning in a psychodynamically informed group led by highly experienced supervisors, the E.M. Work Discussion Seminars will enable course participants to deepen their understanding of unconscious factors impacting on the work task, whether clinical or organizational.
Emotional Mapping - Theory Seminar
The Theory Seminar is taught through a mixture of lectures and guided reading of relevant papers. It follows on from the work discussion seminar as a means of ensuring that all theory is integrated into current clinical and organisational concerns and is directly relevant to the rigours of everyday challenge in the workplace.
